I think Krauthammer has it correct.

The wacky environmentalists think the conference in Copenhagen was wonderful, and want to tax me and give it to other countries. GET BENT! This is stupid!

Stupid people

It is amazing how many stupid people there are. There are the famous stupid people like Elliot Spitzer, and there are the normal stupid people that we see every day. Take for example the person in a mall. I work at a kiosk selling phones. Right behind the kiosk is the customer service desk for the mall. They know where everything is located, NOT ME! I started to have fun with it though. I start sending them in the wrong direction, and have yet to have someone come back and complain. Then we have the ultimate in stupid. These are the cellphone customers of a different company that stop at our kiosk and ask where is XY&Z? Being the prick that I am, I always send them to the opposite side of the mall. Either these people have enormous balls, or they are incredibly stupid. I vote for stupid. These people usually dress nice, look educated, and are somewhat clueless.

These are the 99% of the population that have no common sense what so ever. I despised these people before I ever worked in retail. These are the brain dead people at work who come in late, take a long lunch, want to leave early and bitch about what they are paid. They are the brain dead jag off in the cubicle next to you that you want to bury an axe in their head. Everyone knows someone like this.

We all occasionally have a brain fart and do something stupid. That is human nature. When you live from mistake to mistake is when you become part of the problem (99%) and stop being part of the solution (1%). In the spirit of the holiday season, can we as collective of humans, stop being so damn stupid and ignorant and start seeing the common sense that is slapping us in the face?

Working in a retail environment gives a person ample time to observe the human condition. This leads to certain conclusions that may not be the most pc, but, I believe, are accurate.

I have deduced that everyone can be categorized. The first is the 'attitude'. This is the person that comes in with the attitude that you personally are out to get them. You alone have the power to make their life miserable. I have found a perverse joy in pushing the buttons of these people. They are the type of people that I do not give 2 shits about. they could fall off the planet and I would not care a bit.

The second type of person is the 'I just don't know' mentality. They couldn't make a decision about anything. What happened to the take it on and figure it out attitude? What happened was political correctness. They don't want to make a decision that could make them look bad to their coworkers or neighbors.

The final type of personality in the retail world is the 'Just fix the problem' person. I love this person. They state their problem, what their expectations are, and how they think the problem can be fixed. These are the one percenters. They are the one percent of the population that get it. These one percenters have 95% of the common sense. They do not have emotion in their statements, just facts.

I have taken several psychology tests that point to the fact that I do not care about emotions. The 1%'s are my type of person. You can cry in front of me, whine to me, bitch to me, I don't care! However, if you give me the facts, and what you expect the outcome to be, I will be more than happy to help you.

Intelligence as a liability is what our society has become. There are far too many people in the first two personality types than are in the third. As I said, the third group are 1%'s. This one percent holds 95% of the common sense of our country. I believe that this is a 180 degree shift from what it was when my dad was growing up. People have become educated beyond their intelligence. This is from a comedian that I don't remember, but wish I could. The lack of common sense in many of the most educated among us has become a liability. It affects the entire nation. We have decided that pseudo-science will prevail over the established scientific process. This is wrong on so many levels.

Future posts will look at the other 99% of the population, and examine how they perceive the world.
